NovelThread is fully functional offline for free, with access to all official models. Upgrade when you need higher AI quotas or cross-device sync. Four tiers are available: Free, Plus ($5/month), Pro ($20/month), and Max ($50/month). Annual billing saves 15%, charged once per year with credits granted monthly.

Steps

  1. Free: free forever, includes one-time 10,000 writing credits and access to every official model — local writing and all export formats remain completely unrestricted.
  2. Plus: $5 / month or $51 / year (save 15%), includes 500,000 monthly credits, 512 MiB cloud sync storage (~50M Chinese characters), up to 5 parallel official AI requests, and BYOK support.
  3. Pro (recommended): $20 / month or $204 / year (save 15%), includes 2,000,000 monthly credits, 2 GiB cloud sync storage (~200M Chinese characters), up to 10 parallel official AI requests, and BYOK support.
  4. Max: $50 / month or $510 / year (save 15%), includes 5,000,000 monthly credits, 5 GiB cloud sync storage (~500M Chinese characters), up to 20 parallel official AI requests, and BYOK support.
  5. An active Plus subscription or higher supports BYOK: requests go directly from your device to the OpenAI-compatible provider you configure; your provider bills you separately, usage does not consume official credits, and the API key stays in local secure storage.
  6. Official credits power continuation and generation on official cloud text models. Provider extensions vary, so we do not guarantee every extension from every provider. V1 does not provide AI image generation.
