Start with the writing problem

When chapter goals live in scattered notes and chats, writing starts with another round of organization. Keeping plans near the manuscript gives discussion, drafting, and revision a shared direction.

A workflow you can keep using

  1. Describe what changes by the end of the volume, rather than only a word count.
  2. Record the next chapter’s starting point, goal, obstacle, and resulting change.
  3. Ask the agent to consult relevant material and discuss the plan. Return to the chapter to revise the draft.

To turn an idea into a project, start with creating a novel and then organize its chapters.

A worked example

Starting point: a courier arrives after the last ferry has left. Goal: deliver a sealed letter before dawn. Obstacle: the lighthouse keeper refuses entry without the brass key. Turn: the courier finds the recipient’s signature in an old visitor book. End state: delivery becomes an investigation. Withhold: who sent the letter.

Review the result

A chapter plan guides a draft; it does not guarantee continuity. Check the viewpoint, chronology, character knowledge and final change yourself. Keep rejected ideas outside confirmed story facts.

Inline rewrites require confirmation. Agent changes follow your permissions: Manual asks for approval where required; Automatic can execute authorized changes. Read the result and review story records after drafting.
